Testa's Banquet Facility Offers Something for Every Function | See PDF

Testa's Banquet Facility offers two newly redecorated function rooms, banquet coordinators with over 35 years of experience, complete package options for any special event and the Testa family's signature homemade tomato sauce.

The business has been familyowned and operated at 26 South Center St. since 1976. Enzo Testa is the owner and he runs it with help from family members. He grew up in the business, having taken over in 1992 from his parents, Dominic and Carmina Testa.

"I have a hands-on degree, the best degree you can get," he said.

He just remodeled the facility from the bottom up a year and a half ago, adding a second banquet room and a bridal suite. The facility is booked a year in advance. The elegant setting is suitable for bridal showers, stag parties, rehearsal dinners, weddings, baptism or communion celebrations, bar mitzvahs, corporate events, funeral lunches, and more, including formal, buffet, or family-style dinners.

Testa's also offers complete package options, including specialty cakes, flowers and DJs, to eliminate some stress from planning the big day. The wedding service includes theme and/or color scheme creation; use of a bridal suite; distribution of party favors, champagne flutes, programs, etc; assistance with hotel accommodations for out-of-town guests; and more. The staff work to customize any package to fit the customer's budget and needs.

Testa's also has themed events such as the "Taste of Italy," "Testa's Fiesta," wine tastings, comedy shows and Carnevale dinner dances. The catering is all done inhouse, and it's all homemade, authentic Italian cuisine, including seven flavors of tomato sauce made from a family recipe using all natural ingredients, said Testa.

Over the years, so many patrons complimented the sauce that 10 years ago Enzo Testa decided to bottle it under the name Testa's Premium Homestyle Sauces – Skinless, Seedless Pasta Sauce and Marinara Sauce. The labels feature a photo of his mother, Carmina, and his aunt Pierina Kowalczyk.

"We sell them by the case here, and you can buy them at all the supermarkets — Stop & Shop, Big Y, Price Chopper, all your IGA stores," he said. "As of Dec. 18, all major supermarket chains are taking on another line of Testa's sauces Tomato Basil." "Now they are also expanding it into the Boston area and also into the New York and New Jersey area," Testa added. "Eventually my goal is get all seven of our flavors into the stores and sell them nationwide."

The Testa's website features a commercial telling all about the sauces and where they're available. Even the commercial is a family affair, starring Testa's 12-year-old daughter Liana, and his nieces and nephews Reena and Peter Dichello and Carmina and Peppe Coppola. It took about a week to film and everyone had fun doing it, he said.
